Fighting Ships of the U.S. Navy 1883-2019: Vol 4 Part 3 Destroyers

.

.

by Venner F. Milewski, jr.

Hardback (8.5×12.0 inches). 204 pages. 2024.

This latest volume in the ongoing series provides yet more compilations of specs, photos, and historical recaps of destroyers. The recaps consist of contracts, commissionings, and fates for each ship. As for the fate, most were sunk during WWII or post-war exercises, scrapped, or transferred to other countries and later scrapped. A few are still around as museum ships.

Yet, it’s the 408 black and white photos that are the big draw. The back of the book contains 20 black and white illustrations of various camouflage schemes used by the USN in the war. I also have to give kudos to the terrific Table of Contents listing every ship, grouped by class.

Another fine volume.

Enjoyed it.
