Oh sure, the US Army’s WWII deuce and a half truck gets all the public relations, but plenty of tractor trailer and other trucks helped win the logistics war behind the front lines. Covered are flatbeds, covered trailers, and a multitude of specialty trucks and trailers including laundry, machine shop, tanker, wreckers and tow trucks, pontoon and aircraft carrying trailers, and lots of others.
Many main truck designs receive overview text about of its shape, mechanics, and evolution. Shape is about its form factor, like number of wheels and weight. Mechanics cover the tech specs. Evolution cover variations. Specialty designs receives shorter descriptions, sometimes only a paragraph.
The book contains 360 black and white photos, five color photos, one color illustration, and seven black and white illustrations.
For the tractor trailer buff, here is a magnificent overview of them all in a Casemate Illustrated Special book.
Enjoyed it.
