Twelve Years With Hitler: Secretary to the Fuhrer

.

.

by Albert Zoller.

Hardback (6.4×9.4 inches). 189 pages. 2025 translated reprint of 1952 reprint of 1949 book.

This easy read offers Christa Schroeder’s memoirs as secretary to Hitler. It covers a wide range of topics, with observations on his moods, health, management style, art, and personal relations. You’ll get a better sense of what makes him tick. This has likely served as a source for many a Hitler biography, but it’s always nice to read the original.

Of interest: Hitler rejected any sort of afterlife consequences of his actions. In his mind, there were no circles of hell and his mentions of God were calculated only as appeals to the more religious citizens of Germany.

The book contains one black and white close-up photo of Schroeder. The color photo on the cover is clearer.

Enjoyed it.
